i upgraded from hdd to ssd and when i opened the case i recognized a „blown“ battery. the behavior at work is normal, 6 to 8 hours.
its a mbp mid 2011 15“.
should i replace the battery? any buying hints?
thank you guys.

At 7 years old your battery is likely at it lifespan, see https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201585

But if you are recognizing the blown battery by leakage, I would replace it regardless of how old or SOC the battery could hold. The battery can overheat and outgas leading to a fire (Think Samsung Note). I would replace it, or the computer.

Edit: i bought a new battery for 30 Eur. Simple to change.
