No it doesn't seem like a good deal at all, an Apple refurbished unit is $1099. An Apple refurbished unit comes with a full warranty.

You never know what has been done to an open box system that BestBuy is selling. Was it returned for a problem? Was the software on it screwed up? Was the software on the system registered to the original purchaser?
