4gb memory
500gb @ 7200rpm
highres anti glare

let me know what you guys think?

is this a great computer? do you guys have any other suggestions on what sounds like a better setup

Is the 2.3 the upgrade CPU that's a few hundred more? IMO you're much better off going with the 2.2 and a SSD, as the 2.3 will show very little difference from the 2.2, but a SSD will be night and day.

I disagree. 2.3 instead of 2.2 because you can always put a ssd in later.

Thats what I thought too until I read this:

2.3GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor

Has 8MB L3 cache and Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.40GHz.

vs.

2.2GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor

Has 6MB L3 cache and Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.30GHz.

Actually Apple's SSD offerings are the best you can find right now. It's actually cheaper to buy from them than from any other sellers. I don't think that 100mhz boost can justify the markup of $235 especially with the new faster i7 sandy bridges coming out in september.

It's the 8MB L3 cache that the 2.3GHz has, that your paying for.

Okay, slow down here, first and foremost, what do you use your computer for? Numbers are all great and everything, but they only tell half the story. It's all about using the right tool for the job. The configuration you mention is plenty capable, except maybe the processor upgrade which is a lot of money for very little gain.

video editing school photot shop web design some pretty intensive tasks. lots of multitasking and more stuff

what are you suggesting 2.2 or 2.3 with what hard drive
