defaults write com.apple.dock persistent-others -array-add '{"tile-data" = {"list-type" = 1;}; "tile-type" = "recents-tile";}'; killall Dock

This creates a recent items menu stack that you can customize to what you want. It does not seem to work on Tahoe for me. (I never tried it on Sequoia.) Can somebody try to see if it does anything on their system?

I have M1 mini Tahoe 26.0
