Does this USB-C hard drive work with MacBook?

Just come across the LaCie Porsche Design 4 TB USB-C + USB 3.0 Portable 2.5inch drive.

Will it work with a 12"inch MacBook?

It does not have a power input port so it would rely on power from the MacBook.

Anyone tried any other USB-C drives?

I have a Toshiba 2.5" external drive with the standard USB cable. I went ahead and bought a USB C cable and used that with the drive. No issues what so ever. The only thing is mechanical drives really do suck the power when in use.
