Their info says they're located in England. Why is everything priced in dollars? I don't see them listed as an authorized retailer. I would stay away.

It's a UK-based company, but seems to be targeting the US market. I tried to checkout an item to have an idea where they ship from, but you must have an account to do so. Their contact email is a Hotmail account and here is the address from their 'Contact Us' page: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=14+CH....677068&sspn=28.749334,56.337891&vpsrc=6&z=16

Fishy indeed.

Update: OK, so judging from the shipping cost, they do ship from the U.S. Their least expensive option is 2-day at $30.

I've been scouring ebay and other sites for a good deal on a MBA, and I came across this:

http://jeaarelectronicstore.com/Apple-Laptops/

I'm rather shocked that they're selling a brand new 2011 MBA (11", 4/128) for $980. They also sell a 2011 11" 2/64 for $700...

It seems like a "too good to be true" kinda thing...:confused::confused:

I think those are laptops that fell off the "back of the truck" if you know what I mean. ;) Not to mention aren't Airs in England a lot more than here in the US. What they pay in their currency would be quite a bit more US dollars correct?

The single most common reason most people allow themselves to get scammed is they allow their greed to override their instincts.

There is nothing confusing here.

Have a look at http://www.networksolutions.com/whois-search/jeaarelectronicstore.com

They claim to be in the UK but the domain is registered to someone in Lafayette, Louisiana and they're offering high value stuff for "too good to be true" prices from a website using a @hotmail.com email address.

Not real difficult to figure this one out.... :D

Ok, clearly this site is something to stay faaaar away from. :p

Ah well. Then my search for a good deal on a mac continues...far away from there. :D

If its too good to be true, it probably is. How could a company like this sell MacBooks at that price? Unless they were stolen or they were willing to take a loss on every sale, they couldn't.

any any site offering deals like that would have *HUGE* threads here and on Slickdeals and other sites (c.f. Amazon 20% Kindle Special Offers deal).

The absence of such is a good indicator of a potential scam.

My rule of thumb is that if it sounds too good to be true then it generally is.

Stick with trusted well known shops or sites.

Personally I prefer to buy such items from highstreet stores so I have somewhere to re visit if I need support.

They have a hotmail email address. That usually signals a reputable company.

Ya know, when I see a title like this the first thing I want to do is click the link....NOT :D

reminds me of all those charming emails I get saying "click this link" for a surprise.

Not only was the domain registered in Lafayette, LA but:

Creation date: 22 Aug 2011 09:24:02

Interesting--and fun when you know there are tools to check them out--but not so fun I suppose if you just follow along blindly.

A couple more months, and you should start seeing sandy bridge airs on the apple refurb site.

I recognize the street view to be true. One of the scripts on Codecanyon.com demo was that street view.
