Just asking, as others have said that they have been abroad on holiday, made sure that roaming was off in Settings and then found they had still been charged with data. Needs to be publicised if that is what actually happens!
 
No, turning off roaming will not turn off wifi assist. That is how I have my phone set up.
 
So, if you are roaming, with roaming turned off - then cellular data can still be used? Just trying to get my head round this. Would mean that roaming data charges are incurred, surely.
 
If you have cellular data roaming disabled, and you are in a roaming cellular area, there should be no “fall back” cellular assist to weak WiFi because that cellular option itself is disabled.
