Wanted to ask you guys here will it make a difference in terms of listening to Songs and watching Movie if I have two OG Homepod vs only one ? I mean yes, it will make a difference but how much of a difference will it make ? With Two OG Homepods ? Will I get to hear the full Dolby Atmos Sound effect which Apple touts about ? I just purchased an OG Homepod some days back and I have a chance to buy one more at dirt cheap price should I go for it ? I am just wondering will it make a difference or will it be an overkill ? My usage is 70% music and 30% Movies. My room size is also not too big, But if I get to watch Movies in Dolby Atmos Sound it would be a good addition. But will it make any difference in listening to Music ? And when I give SIRI command will both the speakers speak or only one of them ?

Only one HomePod in a stereo pair will reply to Siri commands but you can choose which one by manually calling up Siri on the HomePod of choice.

As for the stereo pairs, I wouldn’t have it any other way. For “dirt cheap” I’d go for it.

I got two HPs as soon as pairing was a thing, and I have never had a set of computer speakers that good. For music, for gaming, for watching movies, and yes, you get Dolby Atmos with a pair of HPs (https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT207705).

I am also thinking is it worth investing in one more OG Homepod now that I have one, because I also have a very good Airplay Speaker form JBL called the Authentics L8 they are fantastic in sound. Typical JBL Sound profile. But yes it is not a smart speaker so you cannot directly summon SIRI on it and ask her to play music, do things, or perform tasks for you. Also they do not have Dolby Atmos Functionality. But trust me when you watch a movie in it, though it is just a soundbar you are more then overwhelmed and satisfied with its movie sound. It is Wow !

So one would ask why are you buying the OG Homepods in the first place.

1. They are Smart Speakers My Voice Command can do a lot things, including Just ask SIRI to start PLaying my Favorite Music or Start playing a particular playlist. That is not possible in my JBL L8 Speakers.

2. I am a BASS lover and for its size the OG Homepod Just sound out of the world. I am still awestruck what a Engineering Marvel this piece of Egg shaped Box is ?

3. Though I have the JBL L8 they do not have the True Dolby Atmos sound to it.

4. I am getting two at the price of one. $300 for a Pair.

So do the odds then change in my Favour in such a case ?

I would say go for it... I have 2 x B&W CM-1 speakers I use for my rear-speakers in my 5.1 setup, and I believe my paired Homepods are better sounding than the 2 CM-1s.

There is one thing to consider… The OG HomePods are failing at a relatively high rate considering they’re only a few years old.

On top of that I have been told from the Apple Reseller that I have purchased these two OG Homepods, If anything goes wrong, you will have no claims on warranty or repairs or any kind of reimbursement. Consider this once sold they are with you. End of the Transaction. So I know.

And I am playing a gamble. But I am hoping since these were not used only Open Box just could not get sold because of lack of demand, I am hoping these will serve me well without any issues. Touch Wood !!
