Does Ubuntu 8.10 amd64 boot on Unibody?

the CD I burned from the Intrepid image doesn't appear to boot on my 2.53 Unibody...

Is there an issue with this distribution? I know previous releases have booted ok.

Do I need to have the alternate ISO then?

I recently installed the latest version of ubuntu via a live cd on my 2.4 GHz unibody MBP. I don't know why you can't boot from the cd. My only suggestion would be to try burning another disc.

amd64 is the 64 bit version from what I understand isn't all i386 32 bit?

Both 32 and 64 bit versions of the ubuntu 8.10 live cds and alternate cds boot fine on my 2.4 unibody MBP. No reason it shouldn't work on yours. Maybe the disk is faulty.
