if you have a microsim (from AT&T, a regular sim cut into a microsim) and an unlocked iPhone, can att still tell that you are using an iPhone?

and are there any adapters that let you use microsims in regular sim slots?
like taking the sim out of the iphone and putting it in a non-smartphone?

Yes, it's determined based on your IMEI.

Yes, it's a small plastic SIM-size card tray that seats the micro SIM.

Yea, you can put the sim into another phone, but as soon as you put it back into the iPhone, it was all a waste of time.
