Hi,

I'm trialling .Mac and thinking I will buy a membership. I've seen some .Mac 4.0 and .Mac 5.0. Any difference?

The other thing is, I've found a couple cheaply on ebay. If I buy now, but don't activate for a few months, will it still be OK. Do the activation keys expire??

Thanks.

Since it is a subscription, I don't believe it expires. You buy a key that gives you access to everything that Apple offers all .mac members immediately. Version 4.0, 5.0 doesn't matter at all since there is no software that you install, it's all on their servers.

Also, if you do a trial, it keeps your email address even if you don't buy. So you can subscribe a year or more in the future and keep the email you setup in the trial (of course, you won't be able to use your email address between when the trial ends and the subscription starts).

Get the cheapest you can find - they are all the same
