Does using a phone sim in an iPad work?

Currently, I've got an ATT Samsung Galaxy Note, which has a SIM in it that is using my account where I have grandfathered "unlimited" LTE data.

I was wondering, assuming the rumor is true that there will be an ATT LTE version of the iPad 3, will I be able to freely swap the SIM between the 2 devices to use my plan on either device?

Probably not -- see the various reports of people trying iphone SIM's in ipads and AT&T notifying them of the need to get the right plan in place.
