We currently have a family plan with 2 iphone5's and 3 dumbphones. The iphones have UDP as we were able to use the "alternative upgrade" when the ip5 came out and keep our UDP. All of our lines now are available for an upgrade so I'm wondering if anybody has successfully upgraded to an ip6/+ and still kept their UDP?

It worked for me to do an "alternative upgrade." With her permission, I used my wife's upgrade to get my iPhone 6 Plus. Just make sure that you pull out the sim that ships in the phone and get rid of it before you ever turn it on. Pull the sim out of your iPhone 5 and put it in the 6 and you should be good to go.
