I'm looking to pick up a 3GS tomorrow and was just wondering if I would be able to use the voice controls to check my distance, time, calories etc.

It's not a deal breaker but it would be pretty awesome if I didn't have to reach for the iPhone to get that kind of info.

No, it does not. But it's still cool.

I have found that the IPhone is too bulky to use with running. It feels too uncomfortable in my pocket when I run, and it is uncomfortable to be strapped to the upper arm. I use my 4th gen nano for running; it is small and light.

If you are a treadmill runner the iphone will be perfect. It does work very well!!

Good luck with your purchase.

Well I picked up my 3GS today and yes it is pretty bulky to run with in my pocket. I haven't tried an armband yet but I can see how that would be uncomfortable too. I held it in my hand as I walked/jogged today but as I get faster and begin to actually run for a good amount of time I may not want to hold it anymore.
