Does weather complication drain battery faster?

Hi, I was wondering whether weather complication drain battery faster because I've noticed every time I have a watch face with weather complication my iPhone is always showing location services icon and only goes away if I change the watch face to one without weather complication.

I have weather complication on all my watch faces and see no effect on the battery life of my two S5’s or previous S0, S3, S4 watches.

I don't know about battery, but I had big activity synchronization problems, till I removed location access for weather. That was watchOS 5, so I might have been fixed since.

My phone has an arrow in the upper left corner.

I use Dark Sky or Carrot on my watches and haven’t experienced any extra battery draining from the apps.

I also use Carrot on my S4's and previous S2. It hasn't cause me any battery drain even with background refresh on. I use infographic watch faces but I changed the color of the face from white to black.
