Does Win 8.1 run cooler than Win 7?

Quick question about Windows 8.1 on BootCamp. I presume we all know how hot Windows 7 runs on Macs, has anyone got any experience with 8.1 and if it's still the same?

The problem is, Apple doesn't let the GPU drop into power save mode. If you have a MBP with an AMD GPU, it'll probably run hot on any version of Windows until Apple gets their act together.

My idea has been to make some type of algorythm code type package with optimized drivers to install Windows. It still runs pretty hot! I like Windows and it would be good if it ran as good as Mac Os on the same hardware but it just runs too hot and I am still tempted to put back Windows in Bootcamp :/ The battery life differs from Windows 7 to 8.1, battery is way better than 8.1.
