While installing XQuartz, to run Inkscape, an alert comes up saying,
"You will need to log out and log back in to make XQuartz your default X11 server."

For my personal development purposes, I run a version of MAMP (from www.mamp.info/en/), an Apache server.

I am confused because both applications are "server" related. Would the XQuartz install in any way impact my development with MAMP, something I'd never want to risk, or make me do something differently?

Thank you.

I'm not sure why or how you would make such an association but the answer is NO. MAMP, by nature, is an island. It's completely independent and unaffected but Mac updates. The only way MAMP changes is if you upgrade it yourself from the MAMP website.

Inasmuch as your username implies, IHelpId10t5, I know nothing about the X11 SERVER, to be sure. I only wish you'd have explained to me, as a bonus, what this breed of server does in the 1st place.
