My MB one does. It's like a crackling electric sounds. Very faint, but if you have nothin' else on and close to it you can hear it. Is that normal? I haven't had any problems with it so I'm assumin it's normal.

On my old Performa 6115, that was the first sign that the power supply was going bad.

Wasn't there a recall on Mac power units recently?

It's a really faint sound. You have to hold it up to your ear to really hear it. If this isn't normal. I'll look into getting another one.

My PowerBook's brick makes a buzzz that you ave to hold the power brick close to your ear to hear..but every power brick I have seen does that. No cracling though.

My PowerBook's power brick does that.. I'm sure it's just because it's a transformer... along with the immense heat it puts out..

My original one did it. I called Applecare to get it replaced. The replacement they sent me does it as well.

Yea I guess it's a buzz not a crackling.
