Informal poll here.

Does your iPhone run hotter with iOS 6? I have an iPhone 4 and have experienced much warmer temps from it since loading iOS 6. (Calls, browsing, everything.)

I'm also pretty confident my battery life is much less but haven't conducted any serious tests. I'm guessing the heat is from the processor running more than it needs to, thus the battery drain.

Anyone else or am I alone here?

Edit: did OTA update

I haven't noticed a difference in temperature of the device while operating or battery life after upgrading to iOS 6.

iPhone 4 32gb Verizon.

My iPhone 4 is running almost exactly as it did with iOS 5. Just as fast, just as smooth, same battery life (maybe slightly better or worse, too early to tell) and certainly no change in operating temperature. I'm a happy user.

For what it's worth, I did the upgrade via an OTA update through wi-fi.

Yes my 4S has been using more power and is running hot. Sometimes it runs hot while locked in my pocket. Other times I've noticed I could be using it heavy and it's running at a normal temp.

My 4 is no hotter and battery life is about the same. It is however, slower.

It was hotter on Thursday but that was only during my initial install. Haven't noticed it since.

My battery however is considerably worse under iOS 6. Normally I would get it down to the 60s or even 50s on a normal day's use under 5.1.1.

I got down to 29% yesterday.

I haven't noticed any difference in temperature or battery life on my iPhone 4. I do get the impression that a few apps are running smoother.

I haven't noticed it being hotter than before, but my battery life has been reduced by at least 50%. Usually I'd make it two days on iOS 5. Today, my phone was dead by 5pm with light use all day and a full charge last night. I'm on an AT&T iPhone 4 -- did the OTA update.
