Mines on LTE but when I make a call it automatically switched to 4G

Then, I have to switch off/on LTE in settings to get it back.

It is doing exactly what it's supposed to. The iPhone can not handle staying on LTE and being on a call at the same time, so it will go down to HSPA+ to maintain a data connection, while you're on a call. I think it has something to do with the chip, and the antenna configuration.

But it won't go back to lte

The above poster is right about the chip not being able to handle LTE while on a phone call, and currently there isn't voice over LTE...but, I have the same problem where my 5 won't go back to LTE unless I toggle the airplane mode switch. Should be able to be fixed in a software update!

That/s because currently no telco in the world supports voice over LTE. That's why when calls come in, the phone will automatically default over to 3G, or '4G' for AT&T case for HSPA+.
