This is one of the major issues that are making me consider a macbook over a MBP

The only reason I ask this is that my iPod touch has a lot of dust under there

None on my MBP and neither of my iPhones have this problem.

But, it doesn't mean that you will get a perfect one, I was lucky to not get a problematic one, but this also doesn't mean that you should expect less than perfect when you buy a brand new machine.

I've seen MacBook Pros at the Apple Store with dust under the glass, but, there is no dust under my mom's MBP glass screen cover. Same applies to my brother's Aluminum Unibody MacBook, no dust.

OK late reply, but my 13" MacBook Pro has about 6 bits of dust under the screen down the botom right hand side :S. Real annoying.

3 MBP's and all are perfect.

2 for me, but both have been perfect as well. If there is something wrong with it, maybe the Genius bar can help (maybe).

If not, did you buy the machine with a credit card? A lot of times they will have additional buyer's protection you can utilize if the machine is not delivered in perfect condition.

None on any of the MBP I have owned or used.

However, I would call Apple (or go to the store) and raise heck with them about the issue. They should swap out the display for one that does not have dust under the lid.

This is unacceptable to me so I would complain long and hard.

My 13" MBP is only a couple months old but okay so far.

My iPhone 3Gs, however, has a about ~7 dust particles under the screen. One is pretty big and I had to smack my phone for a while to get it to fall past the edge so I couldn't see it anymore. But it's still there if I look at the screen from a steep angle.

I would think the MBP would have much lesser likelihood of dust. And of the 6 Apple laptops I've owned over the past 16 years I've never had dust behind the "glass" (plastic in the past).

Good luck!

No dust here on a High Res Glossy MBP. I did have something rather interesting happen with a Dell Inspiron E1505 that I used to have. For some reason, an eyelash or some sort of hair managed to find its way back inside the matte screen. I did manage to take it apart and remove it from behind the glass backlight diffuser but I can't help but wonder how it could have gotten behind there. True story.
