I've just returned mine. It was a MBP13 2020 i5 10th gen and it ran hot.
I could watch a video on netflix and the surface of the laptop became warm and the bottom hot.
I used a software to monitor CPU temps and there were spikes up to 70C while watching netflix.

I can't find much information about this issue on internet so I don't know if mine was faulty or not.

I'm not sure if try to buy another one.

Are you experiencing the same? For reference, my room temp is 27C (summer is hot here). The CPU was idling at 50C.
Running a virtual machine with windows 10 would bring the CPU instantling to 80-100C.

I'm looking for some feedbacks. Thanks

I have the same config and my MacbookPro is idling at 40C.
I have just started Parallels und compiled a > 4 Mio lines program in Delphi I have a temp of 78 C with 1241 rm fan.
Room temp is > 25C. I never saw a temp > 85 C

I think it has to do with the binning, some CPU consume more power to archive the same core frequency.

Does the surface and the touchbar get hot? Idk, searching "mackbook pro hot" on this forum I found some other users having my same problem

No, it never gets hot.
It gets a little bit warm when it is not idling.

But it seems to be a matter of luck if you get a cool cpu.
INTEL does have fluctuations in quality...

Can you share your temps while watching a youtube video in 2k?
My MBP cpu temps had spikes up to 70C...

I have the new 8th gen. watching Netflix through Safari I averaged 42 degrees c. No spikes. Are you playing. Reflux through something else? When you say idle, is that measurement after how long for idle?

About 10 mins after idling
Idk if try to buy another one again

I've been running in upper 30s to mid 40s (C) most of the time. My 2020 10gen i5/16/1TB actually runs much cooler than my previous 2017 13 nTB.
