This might be totally out there, but whenever I connect my MBPr to my Dell external monitor, everything feels snappier. Web pages seem to load quicker, numbers seems to open quicker, just overall everything feels snappier.

Could it be because of the external monitor is bigger than my 13" so it just SEEMS that way or is there something I don't know?

If you use your rMBP with an external display while in clamshell mode, I think it'd be faster, as the Iris GPU doesn't have to drive as many pixels. Your 13" display has way more pixels than the external display.

Bingo! That makes perfect sense.
