Does your Voice Control audio cues come through stereo?

When I dock my my iPhone in the car using a FM transmitter dock, the audio cues play through the iPhone speakers, which are barely audibile, even the music comes through the car stereo speakers.

They do come through my headphones.

I'm going to get a new car stereo and connect the phone via USB from the dock connector, does anyone know if it would work? Bonus points if you know if connecting via the dock to USB will kill GSM buzz as well.
