Any idea as to why my G-4 desktop has developed insomnia?
Used to go to sleep in 15 minutes. Now sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. If I restart it seems to work for a while, then after sometime (don't know exactly how long) screen goes to black (like it should), but hard drive doesn't go to sleep.
I run disk utility every couple of days, but that doesn't help.

Thanks in advance

When I pull up disk utility is says out of 76.7 GB I have 58.1 available.

Coconut won't work on a desk top, only laptops.

No I haven't, I'd have to be "talked" through that one.

Power Mac G-4

OK, just ordered a new battery, the old one is over 4 years old.
I'm going to be out of pocket for about 2 weeks.
If problem continues after new battery I'll check back in.

Thanks all

Yes, new battery on the way.

When I get back into town I'll try the test.

Thanks all

Don't remember, and don't have the order info with me since I'm out of town.
All I remember is that it's a replacement for a G-4.

Why on earth would someone order a laptop battery for a desktop? Obviously he was talking about the CMOS battery.

EDIT: I hope... unless he actually did order a laptop battery, which would be hilarious.

I ordered a 3.6v lithium for a desktop.
