iPhone 15 Pro Max Dolby Atmos songs playing at low volume using AUX in car

Anyone else notice Dolby Atmos songs playing at much lower volume than non-DA songs in the Music App in your car?

Well, my car is older (2012), so I use aux to USBC cable.

When I was using my 12 Pro Max in the same car (different cable obviously), Dolby Atmos songs played at the same level. They were loud.

Did the iPhone 15 change something in settings? Think it’s the cable? I ordered a 2nd one to try, and it does the same thing.

Take this with a grain of salt, but it might be just that atmos mixes have a higher dynamic range and thus can seem quieter.

Have you tried enabling Sound Check in the Music section of Settings?

I noticed in the past Dolby Atmos tracks were quieter.

Searched online and found a site suggesting toggling that on - has made a difference IMHO.

Yes, thank you! I tried that after searching some also, but a few people on Reddit didn’t like that suggestion.

I just disabled Dolby Atmos while in the car, and all songs now sound about the same volume level. Seems to sound about the same as when I toggled sound check ON.
