Hello
so i have a movie on my pc (gemini man) in dolby vision 4k bluray format.
i stream it to my apple tv (connected to DV supported TV) with PLEX
now the pictures and colors is AMAZING really but the frame rates is slow motion low

both my pc and apple tv are wire connected to the internet, 600mb optic

i wonder if this file is to heavy for the HDMI cable since i have 2.0
ill try 2.1 today.
some people on the internet say that its pointless to get 2.1 but maybe for movie this high quality it will

i'd love to hear if u have any other idea for why its so low
tnx :)

Not sure what "frame rates is slow motion" means. Are you getting stutters, jerkiness, ... ?

1. What kind of PC is it?

2. Internet speed is irrelevant to a local network. What you want to measure is local network speed. Run something like network speed tester - the server app on your pc, the client on your apple tv

3. When the problem is occurring monitor system performance. PlexDash is an IOS app that gives you processor, memory, and network utilization. Activity monitor can also give you some clues.

4. Is the video a direct stream play, or is it being transcoded?

hi,
i mean that the sound is playing well, but the video itself is going slower, dont know how to describe it.
audio and video start together, but the audio play in normal speed, and the video is just going slower then it should, so slow its getting un syncronized tiwh the audio, also its just unwatchable like watching movie frame by frame.
but again to quality of the picture is perfect.

i have pretty strong pc for gaming, 1050ti i5 gen8 16ram.
the file is stored on a pretty old hard drive, but i try to move it to my SSD and stream and it didnt help.

2. can u tell me some softwear or a website that can do that?

3. it doesnt have app for apple tv. will it help to run it from iphone? will it show whats going on on ATV?

4.dont know what that mean, i have a file, and i stream it to the ATV with plex

tnx :)

Connect your 1050Ti's hmdi output too your receiver.

The 1050Ti has no problem playing 4k/60 movies with HDR and HD audio.

Which AppleTV do you have?

Network speed tester is a Mac, IOS, and AppleTV app from Lakehorn software. Doesn't seem to have a PC version, and running the server on IOS would mean using Wifi which isn't helpful since you are wired. You can download Speedtest on the Apple TV and run that. It isn't measuring the right thing, but if you values are within the threshold then it would be useful information. A 4K movie streaming rate ranges from the ~40 Mbps to ~100 Mbps.

PlexDash is an app that you can run on your iPhone to get server performance information.

I just added a 4K disk to my library which shows the same problem. Audio is fine, but the video is somewhat jerky and not synchronized with the audio. Have just started working the problem. It plays fine on the DNLA client on my 4K optical player, so it seems to be some issue with the Apple TV. But this is the only disk out of hundreds that has a problem.

i really doubt that the internet is my problem.
i also stream the file to my TV with DLNA, i did played VERY smooth but it doesnt really look dolby vision good. doesnt have the same color when its coming from the atv

also i just streamed with plex to my iphone, its limited cus im a free user so its stoped me after a few sec, but that few sec worked in perfect quiality and realy smooth

thats why im thinking something is getting wrong between the atv and the TV. i will buy and try HDMI 2.1 cus i just think this is the kind of file that really need this HDMI eve tho alot of people saying its pointless to have one
