Back in the late 90's I registered some top level domains and have kept them with my original domain registrar.
Unfortunately, said registrar has been bought and sold over the years. And the service they offer has become so terrible, that I plan to leave with my domains.

Because some of the domains that I own are considered valuable (4 letter dot coms etc) , I am concerned regarding to transferring them to another registrar.

Is there any danger that by transferring domain names from one registrar to another.
That I could find myself locked in with said new registrar ? or put my domains in jeopardy ?

And does anyone have any good recommendations for domain registrars?

Cheers

No danger that I know of in transferring.

I recommend Tiger Tech. This company was originally a Mac software developer that became a domain registrar and host. They are Mac-centric and their customer service works on Sundays (and Saturdays).

Their prices are good too, if you need a host.

I was with them for several years until the loss of a job meant certain things had to go.
