Hey,

I am planning on making a site with the latest Mac and iPhone updates with some recommended Mac and iPhone applications.

So i am wondering what to call my site, it will be a .com and anything to do with Mac in it.

What would attract you to this site?

Thanks...

Information I'm not getting from the 32 other Mac focused sites. :p

Seriously, you need a unique angle otherwise it's been done already.

redundancy.com? Threads like these pop up all the time. It's one thing to try to break onto the scene and I hate to discourage you from trying, but the odds are stacked against you. That you're even asking about what to call your domain is a bad sign indeed.

Well just to add on to what i've said, i'm not trying to make this site because i was to be working on it all the time i want to make this as a little test/boredem project. No i don't obviously want to make a site like this or any other popular Mac sites...

I asked for domain suggestions not for your opinion on what to do..

If you're not serious about it, just start a blog at wordpress or blogger. If you don't care, why do you need help picking a domain name?

Combine it with a cooking blog, and call it:

DinnerAndAMac.com

Cover an app category and a common dish that has uncommon variations in the same article, and then explore the similarities and differences.

It's useful to run permutations of terms - I think you should be able to find free websites that will run permutations. (I have some software that's intended for developing AdWords keywords. It works just as well for domain names.)

There ARE good virgin domain names still out there. I recently registered BarBeacon.com for a future iPhone app.

Please Don't...

Please do not pollute the web by taking up a domain name, that could be used for something real, to feed your fleeting urge to have a popular website/blog where you populate your content with Macrumors re-posts for about a week, and then give up on it... without releasing the domain.

If you want to contribute to the community, then you'll need to have NEW info, and you'll need to have it AT LEAST once per day... otherwise, please don't.

I beg you.

^ that is a nice site with thoughtful reviews. Also, isn't it always nice in AZ? :) Well, when it isn't 134 out..

redundancy.com

seriously, there are like a million mac updates sites out there..

also, if you ask for something on the forums here, prepare for people to give you good and bad answers. If you cant handle people giving you other suggestions as to what to do, you shouldnt be creating a website for mac updates to begin with.

Sheeesh guys... sometimes you lot can be unnecessarily mean-spirted.

The OP was only asking for a couple of ideas – thinking of a domain that's available can be a real pain and it's nice to ask around...

And what is wrong with someone wanting to set up a small site to try it out? Should the OP just sit at home and watch TV?

I got it-www.apple.com

No, but honestly, most good domains with the word "mac" in it will be taken. I would try something else.

Don't be afraid to make use of the dash:

macf-ingrumors.com
checkoutmyamacb-tches.com
igotaniphoneb-tches.com
thisipadisthesh-t.com
etc...
