What really, really frightened me, that this post started some kind of "PPC/Intel/M1 religious war",
wow, that was way easy....
...from, what he said is right (i never said that, just translated),
...to, get out of our "holy" PowerPC forum.
Bring out the pitchforks and chain saws and burn the heretic at the stake !!!

And yes, eyoungren "the mods thought this was the right forum for 'old Macs' ".
Because the first mac i bought, was a used Performa 6200 back in 1997,
then 6400, 7300, G3 Desktop, iMac G3, eMac, PowerMac G4, Power Mac G5, etc.,
and they all are still fit and working.
I never bought new ones, among other things, because i did/do not have the money.
But i also had the luck, that a friend of mine was the Apple responsible at my local university.
So i was sitting at the source in the late 1990´s, because every year they bought new computers,
and i could get "the old" fürn Appel und´n Ei (German phrase)
perhaps in english - for next to nothing -.
Anyway, that was the time when i dared to open one of these mysterious machines,
motto was, D.I.Y., nothing to lose. If i trash two 6400, i will learn it with the third...
Those were the days, my friend..
Nowadays, i only buy "high-end" Power Mac G5.
I´m writing this, with a real fast PowerMac11,2 (Late 2005), pimped with up with a SSD.
My only fear is to catch the 666-A or seven dust nVIR virus...
