okay... problem number 2... my macbook can't connect to a clearly visible network (that my iphone has no problem with) but that is yesterday's news...

today - i installed the software updates and my macbook is now running 10.5.5. i have been using a vodafone mobile usb modem stick to connect to the internet. i installed the software update at 11:00 am and was able to connect to the internet until 4:30pm (or perhaps later - i left my apartment and something terrible happened). now when i try to open the app that lets me connect to the internet (namely, vodafone mobile connect) it just bounces and nothing happens. this is infuriating.

any help would be much appreciated...

all the best,
ashley

1. Try restarting the computer
2. Go to Disk Utility (/Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.app) and run a permissions repair on your hard disk
3. Try re-installing the app
4. Hunt down any associated plists in your /Library/Preferences and ~/Library/Preferences folders. They would be likely labeled "com.vodaphone.connect.plist" or something simliar to that
5. Find any vodaphone items in /Library/Application Support and ~/Library/Application Support
6. After 5 and 6 try reinstalling again

should i delete any plists i find? what about the items in the vodafone application support folder?

totally worked! thanks so much hiddenpremise!

yes, the hills are alive with the sound of music. though it's not my music, because i can't download much with this dumb 1gb modem stick. ;)

and actually, all the gift shops here have signs for sale that say 'there are no kangaroos in austria.' guess a lot of people have the same confusion!
