I just learned how to terminate running programs on an iPad...
Mr. Jobs seems to think we should just leave the apps running, but after having quit all the extraneous apps that were running in the background (eg. Contacts, Calendar, Notes, etc.) and leaving a few often used apps running (eg. Mail, Safari, etc.) there was a SIGNIFICANT speedup in Safari page loading - most notably when reading MacRumors, opening a forum link in the sidebar then returning to the MacRumors main page. The reload of the MacRumors main page was nearly instantaneous!
No offense to Mr. Jobs but I think it would be well worth adding a "Quit" menu option to each and every iPad app!
