So I have Windows 7 Pro on my Mac using Bootcamp and when I hook up my external hd that I always use on my Mac to the pc side and I try to transfer files on my desktop to the hd I always get an error saying I don't have permission to do that. Any ideas how to remove this so that I can start using my hd on the boot camp side?

Have you checked Finder > select external HDD >> GET INFO >>> Format and Sharing & Permissions yet?
