My girlfriend has an iPhone 6S that belonged to her late Mom. She doesn’t have the password and also doesn’t have her iCloud info. Is there any hope in being able to restore it?
If she has proof of purchase Apple may help. If not, the iCloud activation lock can't be removed without entering the AppleID and it's iCloud password even after DFU restore.

If you can prove that her mom is the owner of the phone, a death certificate at Apple should be suffice to get them to unlock it. It would be proof that she is the next of kin.
