Don't get it.... it "bricked" my ipod in a completely non-literal way. Just had to add that because everyone comes in here like, "OMG My ipod is bricked WTF omgomgomgomg!1!!!11!!"

Anyways, upon installing HWpen I was disapointed with it because it sucked at recognizing characters... of maybe my handwriting sucked. So I uninstalled it, exited out of Installer and then my ipod entered the Turn on, shut off, turn on, shut off sequence. Anyways, the holding Home and Sleep thing worked like a charm.... now I just have to reinstall everything and rejailbreak it. Dammit.

Yeah this has been posted alot on iPot Forums. When it uninstalls, it will give you the SWOD (Spinning wheel of death). Just wait 5-10 minutes to it finish and walla, your iPod should be fine.
P.s In future try using iBares
:)

how well does that program work?

It's pretty pathetic to be honest mate. I wouldn't install it again. Props to the developers for creating it, but it's really messed up. If you write a T it could come out as an I. It usually drops things as capitalized all the time, too.

Yeah, it's basically worthless. Its actually slower then the QWERTY keyboard, because you have to redo everything 3 or 4 times before it gets it. If a little more recognition was developed into it, and you could maybe use a stylus (Yes I know, impossible on iPhone) then it might be worthwhile.

Comments in installer?

My iphone is spinning as I type this post.......hoping another 5 minutes will let it finish. Is there a way to add comments to the installer package for this piece-of-sh*t file so others will be aware major issues exist prior to installing? If I had known, I wouldn't have installed it.

We need a rating system like customize...

As I said, for what it is at the moment it's okay but nothing serious..

It is still cool though, it has MAJOR problems with my 5's, A's, and T's

But besides that, it would be nice if it recognized symbols, and whole words

spinning wheel of death comes since when uninstalls it uninstalls system/library/launchdaemons/com.apple.SpringBoard.plist or sumthing like that
on modmyifone forums it tells u to back up that file
so i think ssh into it and put back will fix

You'd write numbers on the right top & bottom boxes *only*; for number 1, start your stroke inside the top-right box, cross it down and end in the bottom-right box. For 8, start at top-right, cross down to bottom-right, and cross again back up to top-right.

You'd write punctuations within the top-right box only.

HWPen beta is *amazing* for its intended purpose, which is to write in Chinese characters. There's just no comparison. I don't think it's really meant for writing English.

But if you understand why the input area is divided into 4 small boxed areas, you'll have less difficulty writing. I'm still trying to figure out how to write in capital letter though....
