I just purchased an ipod touch 4g one week before the apple conference, now there's news that on 12th October 2011 there will be an upgraded ipod touch that will have the icloud and i0s 5 feature, will these features work with the ipod touch i have just purchased or would i need to get the one that comes out after 12th October? I'm really worried i've wasted my money if the ipod i now have won't be as good?? :(

The one you have is the exact same as the "new" one. You'll just have to upgrade its firmware on October 12th and you'll get all the new features.

Small suggestion: the bold typeface is a bit hard on the eyes.

You have not wasted your money, as stated above you can update your software and your up to date

the only difference between your fourth generation and the current generation (which is still fourth generation) is it now comes in the color white already pre-installed with iOS 5 and reduced prices (8GB)

Not completely sure until someone opens up an ipod touch after they become available with ios 5.Maybe a ram upgrade.
