One theory on the reception issue was the software. When you bridge the contacts the left side, the ios suppose to have the phone to switch to another frequency such that it would not lose signal strength. Kinda, backup! So, are there any hackers who know how to jailbreak the ios can resolve this first. It would be cool that a hacker could solve this before apple.

It would be embarrassing on Apple's part if it was a software issue, and that somebody within the Jailbreak community fixed or improved it.

You can't even Jailbreak an iPhone 4. I assume that Apple will come up with the fix first.

I'm not sure "can't" isn't the right word. I'm sure it's been jailbroken already, just not released. When they do, who knows, but I'm pretty sure the guys who do this stuff have already done it. That said, I doubt any jailbreaker/hacker would be able to fix the issue before apple engineers. That is if they are really actively looking for one.
