Seems that they closed whatever they were using to allow syncing by wifi.

The device shows its "Ready to Sync" and the status bar on top shows its connected but the phone never shows up in iTunes.

I am sure it's nothing more than a software update, but if you use it religiously, you might want to hold off.

Thanks for the heads up!

Is it safe to update itunes if our phones are jailbroken and we dont use wifi sync? (using iphone 4)

Works for me!

Just installed iTunes 10 and restarted pc (windows 7), uninstalled/reinstalled Wifi Sync, reset pairing, restarted pc and then opened iTunes. I was able to wifi sync iphone 4 (ios 4.0). The only issue is that I was not able to backup, other than that everything worked just fine! :D

Found another prob with wifi sync yesterday

I had to restore my iPhone but it kept hanging at 80%
After a few hours I found out that it was wifi sync causing it on my pc

Make sure to uninstall it before you restore.

Is there any way to just disable it or turn it off?

Where did you find the file to uninstall it?

This is getting old... Its supposedly legal to jailbreak now yet with every update Apple tries to break our phones! When will what they are doing become "illegal?"

as mad as i get with apple, i doubt they broke wifi sync on purpose; they've made changes to syncing, and those changes are the issue. wifisync will (hopefully) be fixed asap, and we can get back to it.

one, it IS legal

two, Apple didn't break anything, they update their software and some Application (officials and jailbroken) need to be update to accommodate the new changes (some app form the AppStore are reporting issues as well).

Even when is "legal" is Apple wants to intentionally break any "unofficial" functionality they have all the right to do so, that is theirs software and their hardware design.

Just for the records, WiFi sync is working fine for me on iTunes 10, and the Developer confirm it about 7 hours ago on Twitter

Wi-Fi Sync working with iTunes 10, just make sure you REBOOT after updating iTunes (as with any iTunes update)

Wifi sync itunes 10 - connecting but not showing in itunes

Seems that they closed whatever they were using to allow syncing by wifi.

I had this exact problem. I had resintalled itunes, reinstalled wifi sync from the developers website www.getwifisync.com/ and whilst my Ipad thought it had connected to my pc, and the wifi sync icon in the bottom right corner of my pcs screen also told me it was connected, itunes refused to show me my Ipad.

I spent hours reading for solutions trying to fix this. I have now fixed it, and am not completely sure what it was that did it, but have my suspicions.

What I think it was: on the developers website there are two links to download the setup for wifi sync for windows - there is the main link and a mirror. Try as I might I installed the setup program from the main link 3 times and it still didn't work. But when I used the mirror link which involved downloading it from rapidshare (which is a right pain in the arse for an official link - why can't this guy rent some server space of his own on the money he must be making off this app?) it worked first time.

My theory is he has only updated the mirror link with his new working version and that the main link is somehow a slightly older non-working version of wifi sync 1.1a

Just a theory but it fixed what seemed an impassable problem that I spent hours on. The only other possiblity is that something in my pc was randomly conflicting with it and upon the 4th install of wifi sync 1.1a it just suddenly started working, but that seems so unlikely I don't believe it.

Hope this helps anyone else to avoid the wasted evening I just had.

It's a great app when it works and one of the best reasons to jailbreak.
