I have a two-yr-old 3GS where the sleep button rarely works, the vibrate button doesn't work and the volume buttons fell off ages ago.

As such, I really would like a new phone, but have no desire to get the 4S (and certainly don't want to queue for hours to get one).

What are my options?!

4S is unreal, it's so good. Youll love one trust me.

I bet you can walk into ant ATT or Apple store right now and buy one, no wait.

previous people have gave you the options. you cant buy a used phone of CL. Did you really need to make a thread about that?
You can get a 3g in my area for 100$. that could probably hold you off until the next iPhone that you like comes out.

"I prefer my at least 28 month old phone to the most recent pone." Is that what you are saying?:eek:

I had a 3GS that I fried in July and replaced with a 4. THAT was an upgrade. I have a 4S not and trust me, don't let a little line bother you.

just get the 4s

you waited so long, whats a week at most. sure you can get another phone, but then you'll always lust the 4s in the back of your mind.

If you get the 4s, im sure you will be pleased. But the way phones are going, i wouldnt want to be tied down for two years with it, i would save my upgrade.

If its in bad shape, then pick up a iphone 4 on craigslist for a good deal. There are so many of them just try to find good deals or make good offers. Then sell your 3gs for whatever you think it is worth.

Then you will have an upgrade handy for whenever you want to use it. Thats what im doing with my wifes line for her

another post saying the same thing but sometimes hearing it over and over makes the decision easier.

I went from 3GS to 4S after a lot of thinking. I am so glad I did. It is a huge upgrade and has made me start to use my iphone again like I used to. I also have an android phone (Motorola Droid x)that I was using most of the time because the 3GS was getting painful to use. I am glad I upgraded.

I just bought a used iPhone 4 off a friend. A 32gig is going for around $350 and that beats the hell out of burning up another 2 year contract on a mid-cycle iPhone 4S. That way I'll be poised for the next iPhone, should it be an improvement (i.e. larger screen).

..and, personally, I don't want to reward Apple for the 4S, so buying a used iPhone 4 lets someone else get my money.

ask strangers on the street for advice

Just like in the Cash Cab.

This reminds me of the LeBron James "What Should I do" commercials and spoofs.

Your options are VERY simple:

Buy new iPhone.
Buy used iPhone.
Buy any other phone.
Use broken phone.
Use no phone.

Just curious, why not a 4S, just 'cause of the queues?

I wanted to know the say thing. Hard to give him an answer if he doesn't mention why he doesn't want the 4S.

If he doesn't want the 4S because he's waiting for the 5 or 6 I understand. Then I would say get a new 3GS or 4. Or just go for the 4S and then when the new phone comes out, sell the 4S on ebay and get the new one.

If he doesn't want a 4S because he's done with Apple I would suggest an Android.

You don't have to...I am about to reward them, and looks like 4 million others have.

I don't see what people are complaining about (except siri servers crashing and battery issues which I am sure are about to be fixed), the phone does look like an iPhone 4, but is much faster and now you have the option to double the porn you put on it. 64gigs is nice.

A lot of new features and much faster. So it doesn't look different. Who cares, the iPhone 4 is the best looking phone on the market.

Simple do what you want. So much space is wasted around here by people that aren't adult enough to make up their own minds.
