The Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch Ultra are now available to purchase, but if you aren't interested in these updates you can save a lot of money on Series 7 models right now on Amazon.

The best deals are on cellular models of the Apple Watch Series 7, starting with the 41mm cellular model for $379.00, down from $499.00. This is an all-time low price on the cellular Apple Watch Series 7, and it's only available in (PRODUCT)RED.

You can also get the 45mm cellular Apple Watch Series 7 at a discounted price of $400.00 in several colors, down from $529.00. This is another record low price on the Series 7, and Amazon has an estimated delivery date of September 25-28.

Comparatively, not many GPS models of the Series 7 are seeing notable discounts on Amazon this week. The best deal can be found on the 45mm GPS Apple Watch Series 7 for $369.99, down from $429.00. This is a second-best price on the wearable.

A discounted Series 7 looks like a better buy than a Series 8, especially in the UK. Series 8 41mm GPS £419, you can get a refurbished 41mm Series 7 from Apple for £309, a nice £110 saving there.

I mean to be fair, I don’t want a 7 either. There has been very little to write home about since the AW 4 came out.

I actually only use my AW for working out or if I’m going to be doing work out in the field.

For everything else, I’m now wearing a Fossil Gen6.

Except that I'd rather have my DLC Space Black Apple Watch Series 4 that unlike my Series 0 seems to be really showing no signs of slowing down (though this may be the last or next to last OS supported by it) rather than upgrade to a Series 7 that doesn't come in the traditional Space Black DLC chassis. I don't want an Aluminum body, aka Sport.

Upgraded my AW5 to a AW8 last week. My battery wasn't lasting me the day anymore and I had a couple of screen nicks and scratches that were irritating me. I would have upgraded to the AW7 as the AW8 doesn't really have any features I was interested in EXCEPT that the Silver Aluminum version made a return which is what I wanted. I didn't care for any of the AW7 Aluminum finishes.

Steel watches age the best, I’ll be interested if one pops up in SS silver.

Mentioned this in another thread, but I picked up a very lightly used (looks perfect) 45mm Starlight Series 7 with a nice band and all original accessories for $275. That’s much cheaper than even Swappa, and of course much less than new. Check out your local Facebook Marketplace! There were several available for around $300 in the not overly populated part of the country where I live. Coming from a Series 6, the upgrade to a 7 wasn’t worth the new price to me, but was at this amount.

If I could find a Series 7 Space Black Titanium 45mm new, that is what I would buy today. Those are no longer available anywhere though.

I'm going to be upgrading from the series 4 to the 7 or 8. most likely the 7 since it has most of the features and can bet had for a decent discount. I'd be gaining the larger screen, always on display, blood oxygen, and the backtrack feature for compass which requires series 6 or later.

I think if you have a 5 or later it's a tougher sell to upgrade to anything newer.

Question about AW 7:

It has a "Crack-resistant front crystal"... is that referring only to SS models with sapphire crystal? Or is it referring to some aspect of the aluminum models as well?

Yeah, I am very happy with my series 5 watch right now. But if I do upgrade, it will likely be a refurb or sale priced S7.

And really, outside of my iPhone, of all the products I own from Apple (Gen 3 iPad, iPad Mini 5, iPad Air 4, Intel Macbook Pro), the happiest I've ever been with a product from them is the Apple Watch. It has really exceeded all my expectations. What a great little product.

This is some good advice on alternatives to the Apple Watch Ultra but I‘m still going to buy the Ultra because I love the way it looks.
