Don't worry about glass screen protector thickness!

I am more concerned with my battery case than the screen protector. Worried that the thickness/plastic protector may interfere. I grabbed a tempered glass protector and a leather case from Apple earlier just in case.

I'm not saying this applies, but my wife's Otterbox Defender for the 6 works just fine on her 6S.
