hey all.. my brother to be is at the store now contemplating wether to get a standard blackbook or a asus (2GHZ/2GB/160gb/vista or xp)... now im a macman and keep telling him to go for the $200 AUD more macbook, but he thinks the asus will dohim fine... he doesnt want to have to get used to nother OP, b/c hes at uni...?

now what do you guys think?? he is studying to be an engineer, and needs the windows program HYSYS.... anyone have alternatives or experience??

I dont want any biased answers, just some cld hard facts on whether either machine will suffice...

Other programs he'll be using are Office, Internet, iLife etc...

Also, with the asus he gets a free wireless router (he needs one) and a case

If he is not familiar with OS X, then he should get the Asus. There's no point in paying more for an Apple if he thinks the Asus will meet his needs. And they're both good quality machines, so there's no problem there.
