It's been a while since I played games but because of the recent COVID-19 lock down (in Belgium) I wanted to spend my time playing one.

I'm wondering if my 27" iMac late 2013,
3,5 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4 GB
24 GB RAM

can play Doom 2016 with a decent frame rate and with high-quality graphics?
I would use bootcamp to install the game in Windows.

Has anyone tried this game on an iMac 2013?

This thread on steam seems to indicate that its possible but you'll have to tone down the details to the bare minimum.

Thanks for the link. I'm going to look for something else :)

Nope!

I'll trade you for my late 2012 iMac, 21", 2.9GHz i5, 8GB DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 512 MB. Some years back, I tried out Doom 2016 via Bootcamp on my old as dirt iMac, and had some okay performance (16- 32 fps) with all settings turned down.

You should be fine on yours! Do you already have the game?

I did not buy it. I went for Anno 2070 because I really liked 1602 in my young years. I must say I like the colorful worlds of 1602, 1701, 1404 better then the futuristic 2070 world... Not really impressed with this game :)
