Dose workspace on mac-os indenpendent as it on readhat linux?

I'm new on mac-os .
I found the workspace on mac-os not independent , for example when i open an app on workspace1,and i want open another windows of this app on workspace2 ,when i switch windows by command+tab,the windows will switch between tow workspace ,that not i wanted. i just want it only swtich in one workspace,

but the situation on LINUX(redhat/centos) absolutely independent. when i open 5 windows on workspace1,and 7 windows on workspace2,when i alt+tab, the windows will switch only in one workspace not switch to another ,and i'm get used to it , is there any method can do it on mac-os? thanks
