I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed this but when an application is locked to a particular 'Space' or 'Desktop' by using the options in the Dock to lock the application to 'This Desktop, then when the Dock icon is clicked, the application duly switches to the clicked icon, however it does not switch to the Desktop that has been associated with the app.
So you have to click the Dock icon twice, once to switch to the app and again to switch to the app's assigned Desktop. It is particularly annoying because this aspect of mission control of locking apps to Desktops is in fact controlled by the Dock.
What could be more in keeping with mac human interaction guidelines than to understand that if an app has been locked to a desktop then the user obviously wants to be taken to the app AND it's desktop, whether through the Dock or by using the Cmd+Tab shortcut which also only switches apps but does not go to the Desktop.
Worse still is that it makes no difference even if there are open windows currently in use.
I mean why would anyone ever switch focus to another app if they didn't want to go there. How can we be so deep into Lion and still be struggling with such a basic functionality issue on a concept that has been around since the old OS9 Launcher app.
