Double-click hides all

Had a new (for me) bug this evening where when I double-clicked the home button everything disappeared except the wallpaper.
The icons, the dock, the clock and status bar -- everything.
And then an other double-click brought it all back.
It was kinda neat. Nice to be able to see my unobstructed wallpaper for a change.
Apple should maybe implement that.

If you wanna see your wallpaper why not just make the home page blank or go to photos???

My wallpaper isn't in Photos.

This also happened to me and I figured out it happened whenever I used Google Maps on my iPad. Rebooting it brought it back to normal.

I get this on my iPad 3 occasionally. Seems like some apps when opened are causing that. I don't get this behaviour on my iPhone.

You're seeing the multitasking screen, without the apps. It's basically a blank multitasking screen.

Restarting your device should fix it though
