Double-clicking on hidden directories

I noticed that this was brought up in the GM thread and it's been driving me nuts, so I wanted to start a separate thread to address this. It seems that some users are unable to double-click on hidden directories to open them since one of the earlier ML DPs. Obviously the temporary solution is to right-click and choose "Open", but that is annoying. I scanned through the defaults for Finder and didn't see any new flags to change this. Has anyone found a new setting for controlling this behavior?
