Weird thing that’s been going on with my AppleTV for a while now. Double screensvaers. That is, a screen saver will be running on my AppleTV, and when I press the remote, the screensaver will disappear, only to reveal another AppleTV screensaver running underneath it. I have to press the remote one more time to get rid of that one and return to where I was before the screensaver activated. At first, I thought this was due to the annoying YouTube screensavers, but the YouTube app is not running, or at least, the app is minimized if I had it open earlier. This is such a strange issue. Has anyone else out there seen this?

is it the same screen saver ? (2 copies of the same screen saver?)

If it's Apple's aerial, a right/left click or swipe will change the screen saver to the next/last video. Is it possible you're doing that instead of something that wakes it with your first click?

No, it’s two different screen savers. But I’m just clicking, not swiping (I have the touch pad remote). I always have to click twice when this happens.

Okay, I figured this thing out.

Because I have the touch pad remote that came with the AppleTV HD, in order to make the screen saver go away I have to click exactly in the middle of the touch pad. If I click left or right of center, it just switches to another screen saver. I don’t have to swipe left or right to make this happen. Merely clicking on the left or right side of the touch pad will switch to a different scree saver. That’s annoying, but that’s what it is.

Mystery solved. Case Closed.
(Now if only the Sky News app would behave)
