Hi all, recently I got my new iPhone 13 and swap from the old XS. Since yesterday configuration 1 Esim & 1 Physical Sim was greatly working permitting me working and living on Italian Swiss border to join the best of Sunrise and Iliad networks. Since I switch, problems arise. Bad connection or not even connections. More Swiss operator told me my profile was upgraded to 5G, but I had no evidence of it, even in Lugano area, that apparently covered I never seen a 5G symbol on the screen. When I cross the border and I move to Italy, (it happens a couple times a week) Line quality degrade often to 3G or is even absent with apparently no coverage. We are speaking of one of the most well served areas in EU, where previously my XS was greatly connected and working even if limited to 4G. I tried to configure one line and later both using only 4G, no result or even disconnection. I tried to switch off one line, in Italy just using Iliad the local operator and there is evidence of a better receiving radio signals, I got one or two extra lines in the signal icon. But my Swiss line is my main one and is very complicated to disappear from all, really difficult to keep it off.... In summary a lot of troubles I would had avoid and that are making me reconsidering my upgrade to the new phone, next time I'll consider just to buy a new apple battery, giving XS a longer life. This is a symptoms that the switch to 5G is still immature and most probably not only from the technological side but also from the offering and marketing one. During a call with the support team I got the understanding, operators has also their own trouble in configuring user profile and limiting access to networks based on what user pay. 5G will be a more efficient way to access networks and sharing data but two years from its lunch is still pretty unstable and immature.
