From the Macrumors review summary post it seems that you have to have the screen turned on with the watch raised like you are looking at it to use the double tap feature. But I wonder if that is the case for an incoming call where I think the screen would become active spontaneously? I wanted to be able, while driving, to double tap to answer a call without having first to raise the watch. But this may not be the case it seems.

No comments on this? While in the car it would be good to be able to use the gesture to answer the phone before having to raise your wrist.

FWIW, some other non-MR review I read also explicitly mentioned you have to raise to wake first.

I guess there will be a beta soon. I’m only upgrading my Apple Watch if I can answer the phone without looking at the watch. There isn’t much more I would be interested in. I have a S7.
